About
Miracles of Modern Science are a chamber pop band based in Brooklyn, NY. The band was formed in 2005 by Evan Younger (double bass, lead vocals), Josh Hirshfeld (mandolin), Kieran Ledwidge (violin), Geoff McDonald (cello) and Tyler Pines (drums), who were then students at Princeton University. Upon graduating from Princeton in 2008, Miracles of Modern Science released their self-titled debut EP and built a following in the New York City area. In 2009, SPIN named them a "Must-Hear Artist" at the CMJ Music Marathon. Their LP "Dog Year" was released in December 2011 to high praise from NPR, Wired, Paste, and Consequence of Sound.

In 2013 they followed up with an, "MEEMS", which The Guardian claimed "highlights talents becoming rarer and rarer to find in modern music. " Their new album, Mean Dreams, will be released August 2015.
