About
Sam Hunt (born December 8, 1984) is an American Country music singer-songwriter and former college football player.

Hunt was a college football quarterback at both Middle Tennessee State University and University of Alabama at Birmingham. After college he was briefly signed as a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hunt co-wrote Kenny Chesney's 2012 single "Come Over", for which he received an award from ASCAP. Hunt also wrote two singles released in 2014: Keith Urban's "Cop Car" and Billy Currington's "We Are Tonight".

Hunt independently released the single "Raised On It" in September 2013 and in October of the same year he released a free 15 song mixtape titled "Between the Pines" via his website.

In January 2014, it was confirmed that Hunt had signed with MCA Nashville. His debut single is "Leave the Night On". On August 12, 2014, Hunt released 'X2C,' a four song EP, intended as a preview for his forthcoming album. The EP debuted on the No. 36 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, selling 8,000 copies.

On September 16, 2014, "Leave The Night On" became GOLD-certified. Hunt is set to release his first full-length album, "Montevallo" on October 27, 2014. Montevallo will include "Leave The Night On" as well as songs from the album preview, X2C and is currently available for pre-order on iTunes.
